A Little Bit About ICFiles:
For the convenience of our clients, we offer a secure Client Portal as a way for us to share documents with our clients, receive documents from clients, and initiate the electronic signing process when we need a signed document from a client. Through this interactive portal, namely ICFiles, we can securely and quickly share documents so we can complete work for our clients and meet critical deadlines.
A few of the benefits of using ICFiles are:
- It is a secure and confidential way for us to interact with clients and do business.
- It is a convenient way to share documents and for clients to electronically sign documents when a signature is required.
- It saves clients a trip to our office to drop off paperwork.
- It is a convenient option when a client is not currently in our local area as we can interact remotely.
- A client can request third-party access to their account, giving a bank representative, attorney, financial consultant, etc. the authority to review documents on their behalf. We will always work with the client to secure the proper authorization before proceeding with third-party access.
New Users — Getting Started:
When a client wants to set up an account on our secure ICFiles portal, they can use one of the two methods listed below to do so. A current email address is required. Please note that if documents will be electronically signed and there is BOTH a taxpayer AND a spouse listed on the tax return, both individuals need to have a username and password to be able to access the account. A client can set up their account on their own, but will need to call our office to have their spouse set up as a user on the account.
- Go to the ICFiles web site (link is listed above) and click on Sign Up. Simply follow the prompts and be sure to write down the username and password you are required to assign to your account as you need them for sign-in every time. If you will have another user on the account (a spouse), you will need to call out office for us to set up the second user.
- A client may also contact our office for us to initiate the process for them. We will assign a username for you, and you will then be sent an email to set up your password. Please be sure to write down both your username and password and keep them in a secure place as you will always need them to log into your account. For security purposes, only the client has access to the password they set up on their account (we do not).
Current Users — A Forgotten Password? No problem.
If a client does not have the password they initially set up on their account, they can easily take care of this on their own. Simply go to the ICFiles webpage (link above) and click on Forgot Password (you will need your username to do this). You can also call our office (701-751-7123) and we can initiate a password “reset” for you. You will receive an auto-generated email which provides the account username and instructions on how to set up a new password.
